Notice on the Proper Use of Software
The University has been informed by a software vendor that some faculty, staff, and students have been using software without valid licenses. An internal investigation has confirmed cases where illegally downloaded software from the Internet or software with expired licenses was used for research purposes.
Such actions may constitute violations of copyright law and pose serious problems that could damage not only individual credibility but also the reputation of the entire University and expose it to legal liability.
All members of the University community are required to comply with the following rules regarding the use of any software in educational or research activities. Each individual is expected to act lawfully and ethically, contributing to the promotion of proper software use across the University.
