Preparation for Graduation/All But Dissertation
Upon Graduation/All But Dissertation, the following procedures must be completed by the due date.
In addition, each student should check the Pre-Departure Checklist and prepare the relevant sections several months in advance.

Notes for ABD students
If you want to get a Ph.D. by Coursework (Program Ph.D.), please note it has to be approved that you’ve passed the preliminary examination at GSID Faculty Council within six years (excluding the length of leave) from the date you entered the Doctoral Program.
In the case that the deadline for obtaining a Ph.D. by Coursework (Program Ph.D.) has passed, the application will be reviewed as a “Dissertation Ph.D.”.
It costs 57,000 yen to apply for a “Dissertation Ph.D.”.
Graduation Ceremony
All Spring AY2023 graduates are invited to the Nagoya University AY 2023 Graduation Ceremony and the Commencement of GSID as follows:

GSID will be lending academic gowns with limited time on the very day after the Degree Conferment Ceremony of GSID.
