【Award】 A GSID alum, Dr. CHET Chealy, received the 2022 Nagoya University Award for Contributions to International Exchange


[Award] Dr. CHET Chealy (Rector, Royal University of Phnom Penh, 1999 MA and 2002 Ph.D.) received the 2022 Nagoya University Award for Contributions to International Exchange. The award recognizes the achievements of Nagoya University’s outstanding graduates in research, cultural exchange and social contributions every year. The award ceremony was held on October 15, 2022. Dr. CHET Chealy was also awarded the “Foreign Minister’s Commendations for FY 2017” The Foreign Minister’s Commendations are awarded to individuals and groups with outstanding achievements in international fields, in order to acknowledge their contributions to the promotion of friendship between Japan and other countries and areas. Congratulations!

Dr. CHET Chealy is the sixth GSID alum to receive this award, followed by a 2013 awardee Dr. Nandang Rahmat (Dean, Graduate School of Letters, Universitas Padjadjaran, 2000 Ph.D.), a 2014 awardee Dr. Mammoun SAMRETH (Senior Legal Advisor, HBS Law/ Nagoya University Alumni Association’s Cambodia Chapter President, 2010 ABD), a 2016 awardee Dr. Rizal Affandi LUKMAN (Deputy Minister for International Economic and Financial Cooperation, Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Indonesia/ Nagoya University Alumni Association’s Indonesia Chapter President, 2000 Ph.D.), a 2019 awardee Dr. Mbuli Charles BOLIKO (FAO Representative in Madagascar, Comoros, Mauritius and Seychelles, 1996 Ph.D.), and a 2021 awardee Dr. Tolkunbek ABDYGULOV (Chairman/Governor, National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, 2005 MA).
