Issuance of Certificates

*From Thursday, October 1, 2020, the fee for issuing certificates has been charged.

Application for Certificates

Please apply for any certifcates online.

Please create your account as the first step “First registration” if you do not have an account.

As the second step, you may apply for a certificate online from “Login site”.

Nagoya University complies with the Personal Information Protection law. In order to assure that a certificate is issued upon request from the person whose name appears on the certificate (the “requester”), the requester is required to show or submit a copy of a personal identification card.
The information on the identification document presented is used only to verify the identification of the requester, and all personal information is handled in a responsible manner.
Certificates for Alumni are basically issued by the online certificate application service. For certificates not available at the online service, please contact the GSID Office.

Submission of Ph.D Dissertation
(For Students with “All But Dissertation” Status)

When applying, please consult first with your academic advisor when you were enrolled in the GSID.

Notes for ABD students

If you want to get a Ph.D. by Coursework (Program Ph.D.), please note it has to be approved that you’ve passed the preliminary examination at GSID Faculty Council within six years (excluding the length of leave) from the date you entered the Doctoral Program.

In the case that the deadline for obtaining a Ph.D. by Coursework (Program Ph.D.) has passed, the application will be reviewed as a “Dissertation Ph.D.”.

It costs 57,000 yen to apply for a “Dissertation Ph.D.”.

Alumni Association

All GSID Master’s and PhD students (including ABD) automatically and inclusively become members of the GSID Alumni Association upon their graduation.
