【Award】 Dr. Teguh Dartanto, a GSID graduate, was awarded the 2025 Diplomatic Commendations
On April 7, Ambassador Masaki Yasushi of Japan to Indonesia announced that 2025 Ambassador’s Commendation (first half) will be awarded to two individuals who have contributed to promoting friendly relations and understanding between the two countries for many years. One of them is one of our proud alumni, Dr.Teguh Dartanto. He is the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Indonesia, which has produced many important figures in the political, financial, government, and academic circles. He has a deep knowledge of Japan, having received a master’s degree in economics from Hitotsubashi University and a PhD in International Development from Nagoya University as a MEXT student, and has conducted joint research with Japanese universities, JICA, ADB, and ERIA, mainly in the fields of economy and development. In the field of development assistance, he identified Indonesia’s needs in areas such as universal health care coverage(UHC) and social infrastructure through joint research with JICA, contributing to the formulation of effective development assistance policies in Indonesia.The 2025 Diplomatic Commendations (first half)(Embassy of Japan in Indonesia)
